.WORN N°22. Fireplaces and beauty

  Este último mes, Manfred y yo hemos tenido que venir varias veces a Wiesbaden. Manfred está trabajando en un proyecto que se presentará este domingo y se expondrá en el museo de arte. Tenemos la suerte de poder alojarnos en el maravilloso apartamento de un amigo nuestro que vive en un barrio precioso de la ciudad llamado Rheingauviertel. Es muy agradable estar en su casa. 
 Mientras Manfred trabaja, yo pululo alrededor como una musa ayudando y dándole ideas; también estudiando mis cosas, por supuesto. Algunos días en vez de irme con Manfred al taller me quedo disfrutando de la atmósfera romántica que tiene esta casa.
 El apartamento está en un edificio de estilo modernista, así que se pueden encontrar muchos detalles art nouveau como los pomos de las puertas o la barandilla de las escaleras la cual está hecha de flores de metal. Aquí en Wiesbaden abundan los edificios modernistas y neoclasicistas y hay una gran mezcla de estilos porque la ciudad fue construida casi en su totalidad hacia finales del s.XIX y principios del S.XX por nobles rusos y otra gente adinerada. Es por eso que sus calles tienen una atmósfera elegante y señorial. 
 Hoy os quiero enseñar esta magnífica chimenea de la que estoy enamorada. Las chimeneas en Alemania tienen una larga tradición, son peculiares por no mostrar el fuego en su interior y estar recubiertas de azulejos. Desde que vine a este país me quedé fascinada con estas chimeneas que son grandes como armarios y parecen un habitante más de la casa. Esta de mi amigo encima está diseñada en estilo modernista siendo el colmo de mi placer. Es un perfecto acompañante de mi modelito, no?

 During the last month, Manfred and I had to come to Wiesbaden a couple of times. Manfred is working on a project that is going to be presented on Sunday and it will take place in the Art Museum of the city. We are fortunate to be able to stay in our friend's wonderful apartment which is in a beautiful part of Wiesbaden called Rheingauviertel. It's very nice to be in his house.
 While Manfred is working, I stay around as a muse, helping and developing ideas with him. And also studying my stuffs, of course. Some days, instead of going with Manfred to the work space I stay at the house enjoying its romantic atmosphere.
 The apartment is in a modernism building so it is full of art nouveau details such a door knobs or the stairs rail which is made of metal flowers. Here in Wiesbaden are a lot of modernists and neoclassical buildings and there is a great mix of styles because the city was built almost entirely in the late 19th century and early 20th century by Russian nobles and other wealthy people. That's why the streets have a stylish and elegant atmosphere. 
 Today I want to show you this magnificent fireplace that I'm in love with. Fireplaces in Germany have a long tradition. They are peculiar not to show the inner fire and to be covered with tiles. Since I came to this country I got fascinated with these great fireplaces big as wardrobes which are like one inhabitant more of the house. This fireplace from our friend is designed in jugendstil style, so it wrapped me in pleasure.
 It is a perfect companion to my outfit, right?
