  Me paso el día postrada en alguna rama. Cuando entro en modo crisálida (mi actividad favorita) elijo el sitio siempre entre el límite del interior y el exterior. Observo ambos espacios ambivalentemente mientras dulces volutas de humo se filtran entre mis pensamientos. En el transcurso de las horas, lentamente, voy elaborando mi estructura.
  Si me intentas atacar te enseño mi falsa carota, roja y enfadada, para que te asustes y te largues.

  I spend the day lying in some branch. When I go into chrysalis mode (my favorite activity) I always choose the site on the edge of inside and outside. I watch both spaces ambivalently while sweet wisps of smoke seep into my thoughts. In the course of hours I am slowly developing my structure.

  Richie Havens (1941-2013 ✝) ha muerto hace cuatro días. Con él muere un poco más aquel lejano Woodstock. Milagro que inspiró aquella generación, que aun nos inspira a nosotros y que cada vez más parece un buen sueño del pasado. ¡Qué nos infecte la energía y el éxtasis de su alma! Salgamos fuera con la guitarra, a cantar, a homenajearle ahora y siempre: Freedom!

  Richie Havens (1941-2013 ✝)  died four days ago. With him the distant Woodstock dies a little more. Miracle that inspired this generation, still inspires us and that more and more seems like a good dream from the past. We have to infect ourselves with the energy and ecstasy of his soul! Go outside to sing, play the guitar, to honor him now and forever: Freedom!

  El pasado fin de semana se celebró la Conferencia See#8 en Wiesbaden. Scholz&Volkmer, la empresa organizadora, reunió grandes mentes e interesantes proyectos. El evento en sí trata de visualización de información, una manera más empírica de comunicar hechos. Pero allí hubo mucho más: se habló de arte, filosofía, diseño, ecología, ciencia, tecnología, creatividad... se mezcló todo, se habló de futuro.
  Las demostraciones que me parecieron más inspiradoras fueron las del coreógrafo y artista multimedia Klaus Obermaier (exile.at), el crítico de diseño y arquitectura Jeroen Junte (autor del libro Hands on: 21st century dutch design), el diseñador y artista Dries Verbruggen (unfold.be) y especialmente, el diseñador y arquitecto Daan Roosegaarde (studioroosegaarde.net). 
  La conclusión que yo saqué de estos discursos es que el artista, o la mente creadora, ya no trabaja individualmente sino que construye en cooperación con otras mentes que lo complementan. Estamos en un punto de desarrollo en el que hay mil posibilidades de avance y debemos replantearnos en que dirección invertir el esfuerzo. El mundo es amplio, cada vez más variado y anárquico. La información es de libre acceso, con sus ventajas y sus desventajas. Debemos calibrar bien nuestros medios y a la vez utilizar la oportunidad que este momento histórico nos brinda. Me dí cuenta de que no avanzamos hacía el futuro, ya nos encontramos en él. Tenemos que tomar conciencia de ello.

  The last weekend The See#8 Conference was held in Wiesbaden. The organizing company, Scholz&Volkmer, brought together great minds and interesting projects. The event itself is about information visualizations, a more empirical way to communicate facts. But there was much more: they talked about art, science, philosophy, design, ecology, technology, creativity... they mixed everything, they talked about future.
  The demonstrations that I found more inspiring were the choreographer and multimedia artist Laus Obermaier (exile.at), the design and architecture critic Jeroen Junte (author of the book Hands on: 21st century dutch design), the designer and artist Dries Verbruggen (unfold.be) and especially the designer and architect Daan Roosegaarde (studioroosegaarde.net).
  The conclusion that I get from these speeches is that the artist or creative mind no longer works individually but now builds in cooperation with other minds to complement them. We are in a point of development in which there are thousand of possibilities of progress. We must ask ourselves in which direction to invest the effort. The world is wide, varied and increasingly anarchic. Information is freely available, with their advantages and disadvantages. We must consider our resources and use the opportunity that this historical moment brings us. I realized that we don't move into the future, we are already in it. We have to be aware of this.

.INSPIRATION. Geniuses still exist!!!

  El otro día me ocurrió un milagro artístico. Tuve la grata experiencia de conocer un nuevo y magnífico instrumento. Ha sido bautizado como Mulatar y nació hace apenas dos años aquí en Berlín. Puede ser tocado en diferentes estilos musicales y le permite al músico un gran virtuosismo. A la par que complejo, es muy accesible a principiantes pues se puede tocar intuitivamente y suena bien, resulta divertido. Tiene muchas posibilidades de timbre: incluye percusión y cuerda, que a su vez puede ser frotada, pulsada o percutida. Se puede utilizar un complemento que convierte el sonido como un sintetizador. Esta hecho de madera y es en gran parte analógico; pero va enchufado a un amplificador, por lo que tambien funciona de forma electrónica. El diseño guarda un orden de proporciones. El Mulatar es un instrumento bello en esencia y en apariencia.
  Los dos genios creadores, Jordi Rubi y Benjamin Bär, se hacen llamar Lockruf. Juntos y en armónica conexión han engendrado este y otros instrumentos; fruto de la amistad, la pasión por las ideas y la experimentación.   The other day happened to me an artistic miracle. I had the pleasant experience of meeting a new and magnificent instrument. It was named as Mulatar and was born just two years ago here in Berlin. It can be played in different musical styles and allows great virtuosity for the musician. At the same time it is complex, very accessible to beginners because you can play intuitively, it sounds good and is fun. It contains many possibilities of ringing: includes percussion and strings, wich in turn can be rubbed, pulsed or percussive. You can use a complement that converts sound like a synthesizer. The instrument is made of wood and is largely analog; but it is plugged into an amplifier so it also works in electronic form. The design keeps an order of proportions. The Mulatar is a beautiful instrument in essence and in appearance.
  The two creative geniuses, Jordi Rubi and Benjamin Bär, call themselves Lockruf. Together and in harmonic connection they have bred this and other instruments; result of friendship, passion for ideas and experimentation. .PERSONAL. La patria agradecida...y yo orgulloso

 Mi abuelo, que en paz descanse, era facha y un poco cabrón. Pero tenía un toque punki que siempre me gustó. Solía pasear con el perro desde la calle Santa Engracia* hasta los jardines de Nuevos Ministerios*. Allí robaba rosas para la mesa camilla o para el estante con virgencitas de porcelana del salón. Pretendía ser el español más políticamente correcto, y sin embargo, ningún tipo de norma o convención social cohibía cumplir su deseo de flores gratuitas en casa.
 Aquí le hago un homenaje, aunque la rosa no la he podido robar en Nuevos Ministerios.

 My grandfather, who rests in peace, was a fascist and a little bit asshole. But he had a punk style that I always liked. He used to walk with his dog from Santa Engracia street* to the gardens of Nuevos Ministerios*. He stole there roses for the round table or the shelf with porcelain virgins in the living room. My grandfather claimed to be the most politically correct Spanish, and yet, any kind of rule or social convention took away his wish to free flowers at home.
 Here I do a tribute to him, although I could not steal the rose in Nuevos Ministerios.

 Así es como se lo montan en mi barrio. Algunos todavía de fiesta desde el sábado, otros más frescos que se lo encuentran de casualidad. Me encanta.

 Like this is how they do it in my neighborhood. Some of them are still partying from the Saturday night, others more fresh find it by coincidence. I love it.
