INSPIRATION Jan Švankmajer...

 
...the soul shaker, the movie maker.
  
 In the last days I have been (and I will be) discovering an amazing artist: Jan Švankmajer. Amazing... is not enough word to describe him. Actually, there is no way I can describe him, so the best thing you can do is just watch what I show you; and for further interest click the link on his name. He calls himself a surrealist, but while watching his creations I got the feeling that he sends a lot of messages to the viewer: clear and defined critics to society. If there is surrealism, it takes place in the form but not in the message. Anyhow, the message is neither easy to understand, and that's what grabs me into him: he makes me think and he makes me feel intensely, really intensely. I hope you enjoy this piece of craziness as much as I do. The movie was made in 1971.


.INPIRATION. more diva vibes... Zarah Leander


 Zarah Leander is the diva of the 40's, especially famous in Germany. Her voice is powerful and clean and her interpretations are intense and emotional. All of that complemented by her beauty. 
 The first song I post here is nice because the lyrics talk about that you can find the true love more than once in life. I like that because is a revolutionary idea to be sing by a women at that time. In a way it is quite frivolous and, at the same time, deeply sad.
 The second song is spectacular because of the stage design and the intimacy that you can feel between the orchestra director and the singer. 










.WORN 45. Hundertwasser Cure



 Last Sunday we made a little road trip to investigate neighbour towns. We discovered that in a little-but-cute village called Wittenberg there is a primary school that once was rehabilitated by the multidisciplinary artist Hundertwasser. I enjoyed to find out that his work wasn't next to the beautiful and old buildings but in the middle of a plattenbau ("panel-building") neighbourhood. That's the way he was: working to extend beauty to everybody, everywhere he could.
 Hundertwasser is by far my favourite artist. I like his art pieces (paintings, serigraphs, buildings, monuments, demonstrations and performances...) but what really gets me into him is the philosophy he created based on the right of every human to live happily surrounded by beauty: a lifestyle in harmony with nature and the individual creativity.

.INSPIRATION. Blogging in summer is difficult to remember...


...that's why I share this cool video. 

 Each time I do something cool in reality, each time I have a special experience, I want to share it in my blog. But when the magic moment is there I forget the cameras, I forget the blog, I forget to share it..... because sharing it for myself feels enough. Will I cross this barrier? Until then.... .ABOUT. Radwende



 Radwende es una iniciativa, ideada y promovida por Scholz&Volkmer, que pretende cambiar un poco la actitud conservadora de Wiesbaden. Esta ciudad alemana es el lugar dónde los ricos disfrutan de sus riquezas. La actividad favorita de sus gentes es sacar sus Mercedes, Lamborghini y demás piezas de coleccionista a pasear. Sin embargo, no hay espacio para tanto cochazo por lo que la ciudad está siempre atascada. Es ahí dónde empieza el problema y dónde Scholz&Volkmer busca una solución.
 Hoy en día hay muchos usuarios que dejan el coche en casa y se movilizan con bicicleta. Pero la ciudad no cuenta con ninguna vía habilitada para dicho vehículo, por lo que a veces resulta peligroso. Es por eso que se creó la comunidad Radwende.
 El concepto, en esencia, es crear una comunidad de ciclistas que demuestren lo habitual que es el uso de la bicicleta en Wiesbaden y así hacer consciente al gobierno estatal del problema, con la esperanza de que se tomen medidas y se creen carriles bici por las calles más transitadas.
 El primer paso fue crear una aplicación para el móvil (que te puedes bajar gratuitamente en la página web) que el usuario activa cuando se sube a la bicicleta. Mientras que el conductor viaja, la aplicación graba la ruta por GPS. De esta manera cada usuario va acumulando datos de las rutas que recorren de forma habitual. Bueno, de hecho graban cada centímetro que recorren mientras que la aplicación esté encendida. De esta manera se va creando un mapa de Wiesbaden con las calles más concurridas por bicicletas.
 El segundo paso ha sido mostrar públicamente estos acumulación de datos para demostrar el impacto de esta iniciativa, y sobretodo, la importancia de la creación de carriles bici. Es en este punto dónde Manfred y su compañero Tom Kresin entran en escena. Ambos han sido los responsables de crear un pieza física que refleje los datos electrónicos. Para ello construyeron una máquina que recibe los datos de las rutas  y las va transfiriendo a papel. Es decir, una máquina que dibuja las rutas y que poco a poco va a configurando un mapa de Wiesbaden. Pero esto no termina aquí: la máquina también te indica de quién y cuándo es la ruta que está dibujando en ese mismo momento. Actualmente, esta máquina se encuentra expuesta en el museo de arte de la ciudad dónde la gente puede ver al robot en funcionamiento. Además, los usuarios tienen la posibilidad de comprar su propio mapa: es decir, que pueden hacer una ruta intencionada y recibir el mapa de dicha ruta. Os puedo contar que ya hay alrededor de 20 clientes que han comprado su mapa. 
 El tercer paso sería que el gobierno de Wiesbaden, efectivamente, elaborara un plan y se pusiera a modificar el espacio de las bicicletas en las calles y ofrecerles el derecho a circular de forma segura. Aún no hemos llegado a ese punto, pero Radwende ya es todo un éxito internacional y diferentes ciudades quieren participar en esta iniciativa de cambio.

 Radwende is an initiative, conceived and promoted by Scholz&Volkmer, which pretend to change a little bit the conservative attitude of Wiesbaden. This german city is a place where rich people enjoy their richness. Going out with their Mercedes, Lamborghini or any other collector pieces, is their favourite activity to do on Sunday. Nevertheless, there is no space for so many cars so the city is always a big traffic jam. The problem start there and there is where Scholz&Volkmer search for a solution. 
 Nowadays, a lot people leave the car at home and take the bicycle to move into the city. But the city don't have many bicycle ways, so it could be a dangerous thing to do. That's why Radwende community have been created.
 The concept essence is to create a cyclist community that shows how often is the use of bicycle in Wiesbaden and to make the government conscience about the problem, wishing that they will react and they will reform the traffic ways in the most necessary streets.
 The first step was to create an mobile phone app (that anyone can download for free on the web page) that the user activates when he is going to use the bike. While the driver is traveling, the app records the route by GPS. In this way each user is accumulating data of the routes that he often does. Well, in fact they record each meter that they move while the application is on. 
 The second step was to show the accumulation of data publicly showing the impact of the initiative and the importance of creating bike ways. In this point is where Manfred and his partner Tom Kresin enter in scene. They have been the responsable people to create a physical piece that reflect the electronic data. They built a machine that receives data and transfer it to paper. It is a machine that draws routes and slowly creates the Wiesbaden map. But this is not all: the robot also tells you who and when is the route that it's drawing in the moment. 
 Now the machine is displayed in the art museum of Wiesbaden and the people can see it working. In addition, the users have the possibility to buy their own map: so they can make an intentional route and receive the map of this concrete route. I can tell you that around 20 clients already bought their maps.
 The third step would be that Wiesbaden government actually make a plan and start to modify the space for bicycles in the streets and offer to them the right of driving in a secure way. We still didn't arrive to this point, but Radwende is already an international success and different cities want to participate in this initiative of change.
